We have fine tuned how we do design and building for over 10 years. The result is a process that delivers you a project that is well-designed, on-time, on-budget, and beautifully crafted. We always have your best interest in mind.
Our Process
We start with a conversation, typically over Zoom or a phone call. This meeting helps us put together a picture of what you want out of your project. We will gather pictures of your space, basic measurements, and possibly rough sketches. We will ask a lot of questions so we can understand as much as possible about your project. We will hear what you have in mind, give some advice, and talk through your goals, desires, and any fears you may have regarding the project. We will not get into the small details, but we will talk through your vision on a higher level. The result of The Brief is a ballpark range given for budgeting and design purposes.
The Ballpark is a range given for budgeting and designing purposes. There are three possible outcomes from The Ballpark proposal:
- Tentative budget proposal – We will set up a meeting to go over some possible selections, basic layout, and a 3D drawing. A $300 fee is associated with this service.
- Budget approval – Moving into a design agreement and paying a retainer fee which is typically 2.5% of the ballpark range. This retainer fee is credited back at the end of the project. If you decide that you are ready to start this step, we will set up a meeting to start making design and selection decisions. The fun starts now!
- Decline to move forward.
Once the Design Agreement is signed and the retainer is paid, we start the project planning and design phase. Keep in mind, if you sign a contract with us, any design fees that you paid previously will be credited towards the final project payment. The Design phase consists of:
- Design Ideas – Rough drafts, narrowing down ideas you like, preliminary 3D drawings, and final design.
- Materials Selections – A favorite part! You make selections like cabinets, countertops, flooring, plumbing fixtures, and lighting fixtures. Most decisions are made before construction starts. This helps our building process so smoothly.
- Detailing Job Scope – Outlining the design, project phases, material selection, guaranteed pricing, and contracted payment terms.
Now the construction begins. Kick back and enjoy knowing that you have a dedicated team to take care of everything from here. Most of the details were decided in the project planning and design phase. This allows the build process to go much smoother.
As we anticipate the completion of the project, we will conduct a walk-through with you. During this walk through we will be creating a list of any items that may still need some attention. Once these items are completed, final cleanup is finished, and the final payment has been received, the build phase is considered complete. Your warranty will be explained to you at the completion of the project, along with any relevant product warranties.
